If another cyclist and I decided to get into a speed contest, the average motorist wouldn't be able to tell that the other cyclist and I were even in a race.

Does that go for driving a car? You can’t just claim that you don’t speed in a car after making your silly cycling argument.
Can someone speed and then whine about getting a ticket because they are an experienced driver?

Don't agree with your usual nasty tone, but you're sort of right and miss the point at the same time. A speeding bike is a lot less dangerous to other people than a car because of the huge difference in weight between the vehicles. If I'm dr and for some reason I have to choose, I'd much rather be rear ended by a bike going 45 mph than a car. But the speed limit doesn't discriminate on that basis, and doing so would probably make enforcement impossible.

But let's be real here. Drivers speed with impunity all the time, and whine like hell when they get speed trapped.

As far as OP goes, can no one else spot a good humblebrag when they see it?

I'm going with the "frame it" crowd. BTW, there have been books written on how radar tickets can be fought and won. Radar is only a tool, and can be wildly inaccurate under some circumstances.

It was a terrible "humble brag".

As far as anybody could guess from the OP, he got a ticket for going 18 mph on a 15 mph MUP.

I'm mostly curious if there was other traffic. It is well known that radar will pick up large trucks further away than a car and people have gotten speeding tickets overruled because of that. A moving police car will probably be using radar.

Okay, the op posted an insult which is not allowed under the rules of bikeforums.net. If you are about to post a quote of said insult, please delete it

No traffic... quiet road early on a weekend morning.

The art of the humblebrag is sometimes in getting people to dig the brag part out, and that can take a couple posts. We know from his follow up post he's claiming 48 mph.

Style points should be awarded for the subtlety.
