Bikes: Catrike Pocket, Lightning Thunderbold recumbent, Trek 3000 MTB.
Nobody likes anything yelled at them from a car, but it's not so bad if drivers pull up next to you at a light or in the parking lot while you're locking up your bike and ask genuine questions about your bike.

yeah, helemt head sounds like he's riding the armchair a little bit too much and not enough time out on the tarmac with the 'real' polite drivers like the ones PC8MYBRAIN or many other riders encounter in the typical riding environment.
yeah, yelling thru windows at riders will get misinterpreted. i would just pass wide, and wave.....
pretending in some fantasy world, like helemt head's armchair, that drivers are all polite and 'grey poupon' is a hilarious construct, an artificial, make believe, sacccharine view of road riding in america...
