Sacramento has it's issues but compared to KC it's a bike paradise.

Granted I have lived here in Kansas City my whole life, but I have read about the other cities, and I cannot believe how much hostilities there is here to bicycles. This is a real car-pick-up truck-SUV suburbian town. I have had things thrown at me, etc. The state and local government really resist any kind of development that includes access for pedestrians and bicycles. A new bridge has been planned here to cross from South Kansas City downtown to North Kansas City, and after a lot of lobbying and advocacy by bicycle organizations, there is no bicycle lane to be included in this multi-million dollar project.
