from what I understand Dan, that is what CM is *supposed* to be.... Just a ride. There are a certain percentage of CMers with the attitude
cars suck!
cops suck!
punk rock!
bikes rule!
And I think it probably sucks for the people that just want to ride, not advocate.

Yeah, maybe the Detroit CM is a bit more mild. Any repressive regime, would tell you that a group of 10 or more independent people is a threat to the establishment. If our CM was like that, I might join in, on those rare eves, when I'm not working, and free of childcare duties. OK, never.

The next two will probably be small due to their dates (Day after Thanksgiving, and end of December, people will be out of town and stuff) But there is talk of having some Saturday mid-day rides. Check out the CMD website (www.criticalmassdetroit.org) and join the mailing list (It's pretty low traffic, but you'll hear about events).
And it's 5:30 PM if that makes it any easier.

CM rocks. i've met dozens of people who started riding bikes because of it. i even know a few people who have stopped driving to work because they got caught up in a CM and reallized they were dumb-asses.
