Have a newfound respect for former NYC mayor Ed Koch:

Just saw this, and thought, "what a good thing".

I also think the cops attitude of "I have to get them, no matter what" portrays him as a huge ******:

I wonder if NYC has a proportionate amount of manpower per motor vehicle as it has allotted towards cyclists that has adopted a similar attitude towards scofflaw motorists.

TL;DW, but the delivery guys are WAY worse than the messengers! The messenger will cut through traffic to get to their destination, but the delivery guy will ride on the sidewalk, the wrong way, the wrong side of the road, etc., and not have lights or a helmet.

Hey, those cops were riding outside the bike lane. They should be ticketed.

your tax dollars at work

it's been a while since i've spent much time in NYC, but the only tickets the police gave motorists a few years ago were parking and "blocking the box". it seemed like everything else must have been legal, if you did it in a car.

Yes, Or is just giving scofflaw motorists a blank check to run red lights at will, because of how much they despise cyclists.
