Great website, it shows how much stupidity there is in my region, when it comes to fatalities.

Shocking, yes, but other than that the data isn't very informative as displayed. It would be more meaningful to place it into some type of context because it appears to just follow population density - more people = more accidents.
So, for example, I would want to see
In terms of population density, where are deaths are significantly higher or lower as compared to the norm?
Since they show cyclists and pedestrians, it would be useful to isolate them by clicking on the icons.
How do cycling and pedestrians deaths compare to motorists in any given area?

Wow some shocking stats on there. I know there's similar maps available here in the UK, even this week one of the insurance comparison sites have been highlighting incidents between drivers and cyclists through an interactive map - https://www.confused.com/car-insurance/cycle-safety-map it's kicked off a bit of a debate in the press (the usual cyclists v motorists stuff).

They are missing some reports in my area, so it may not even include all of the incidents. There were two friends of my son whose pickup went over the cliff in Big Sur in '05, and that data is missing from the map. And what's odd that there's a report of a cyclist killed along my regular ride route in my neighborhood (!!?) a few years ago, but I had not heard of it until I saw it on the map.

interesting once you use the zoom to check your area... it pretty much relates to population density more fatalities there, 10 Years, not surprised really, they should have another tag for under 20 Year old drivers.

it is pretty interesting. There are some roads in my area that seem to have a lot of fatalities even though you would think they wouldn't. They are missing quite a bit of incidents, I wonder if those are just location errors

I had a look around Las Vegas, Los Angeles and up 101. My general analysis indicates that 80ish % of the cyclists were
men and almost half in their middle 40's. What's with that ??

WEIRD, I used to live in Toledo ohio where there seems to be a lot of cyclist deaths; I used to ride EVERYWHERE and not think anything of it. Fast forward to in the now, I live in Tulsa, drivers are 10000 times worst, roads are horrible, I have hard times finding routes ride able because of the conditions yet it seems to have less cyclist deaths. Maybe I should MTFU and just take the lane and tell these inbred backwoods people to HTFU and let me cycle!
