Especially the line

". . .YES public transit and bike paths should take up parking spots; that is the POINT!"

Redevelop Mission Valley. The freeway exits are a disaster and the river is underutilized and not connected to the ocean, such a waste of land. I imagine a running and bike path from Lake Murray to Ocean Beach.
Add my Yeah Baby to this... the ironic thing is that Friars road used to have a pretty good bike sidepath along the north side of the road... but developers (San Diego caters to these folks) have put in so many shopping centers and condos with driveways as to render the path on Friars dangerous.

Then along comes the tiny bike path from OB... barely able to hold it's own... finally built with state funds... and ending at the far west end of Mission Valley... at a Motel 6. If there were any visionaries in city government, this would be a well laid out bike path going all the way up the valley following the San Diego river. The river would have wide grassy banks and encourage walking and biking (much like the Trinity River in tiny Fort Worth, Texas) instead of inviting the homeless to camp out there, as it does now. This city could leverage that whole area as a beautiful greenbelt access through the valley... a draw to locals and tourists alike.

But there is no vision here except the desire to "build a new stadium." (and even that is a joke... )
