Advocacy and Safety or "Cyclist got hit"???
Don't get me wrong. I feel for those who have gotten hit and especially for those who have lost thir lives while cycling. But it seems to me that there's a lot of posting of news stories of someone getting hit that don't add ( or only thinly) to advice on being safe or true advocacy. Many times in these stories the cyclist was riding as safely as could be, or there's no real mention or evidence of how they were riding.
Can we maybe have a sticky on "cylist got hit" postings and put them together in one spot?

No. Each case is often too different from each other for such a trash bin.

yes, there's valuable topics about bicycling advocacy that get posted her among all the 'bicyclist got hit'.
unfortunately, because how to plan for bike traffic has been so artificially polarized in the bicycling community, sometimes threads about genuine issues related to advocacy get locked when people begin to argue different points about advocacy.
it's too bad, because things like the NACTO guide should be front and center at a bike forums advocacy and safety section.

Naaa.....
Each case is not all that different from the others. And there's not really all that much to learn. Those of us who actually have some riding experience already know most of what we need to know. And what little is left will come to us in small, occasional bits. It might be worth our while to search for it if only there was a decent rate of return on the investment. But I know that on occasions I've spent too much time on forums searching for 'something new'. Haven't you?

Posting each one is worth while. Many of the reports do not have much info, which then leads to less effective analysis (and dare I say diminished objectivity). Nevertheless discussion is generally fruitful. I agree with CB HI - you don't have to read them if you don't want to.
