I should add ... the bridge tolls for cars are based on number of axles ... cars typically pay for 2 axles, 5$. Big rigs will pay, uh, a whole lot more. So there already is a size precedent on the bridge tolls.
Ya, I know somebody'll say "Bikes have 2 axles" but it seems to be about the size of the vehicle.

Good points. Maybe we should look at other places where toll fees have been applied to bicycles and pedestrians and what effects they had on usage..

I'd pay it.
Especially if they opened up the west (non-ped) side more often. Currently, it's only open after 3 or something. I don't like scaring tourists and their kids, so it's a leisurely (read: slow) jaunt on the east (ped) side.
But yeah, quit whining and pay it.
In fact, double it if you wear lycra.
