Ruby

Got the new cables installed today and took her for a short ride. She brings back memories of the Raleigh Rodeo I rode in my teens.

Beautiful, . . . Smooth, . . . Clean, thats an awesome job!! What type of frame did you use? And I'm assuming that color is new, paint, or powdercoat? I think you've inspired me, time to build something!!

Thanks. The frame is an unpainted CamelsBack frame from NYCBikes. It's Al, and the fork is Cromoly. I had my auto body shop paint it (their first) with $100/pint pearlescent paint. They prepped the frame, hit it with primer, black coat, top coat, and clear coat. It was their first and possibly last. The paint sample shone like Dorothy's ruby slippers but Ruby came out rather bland. I've gotten a lot of bike related stuff over the last 3 years and I've wanted to recreate a stingray style bike (and get a frame painted) for at least a couple years. This spring I bought and flipped 8 bikes from the spring community sale and the profits paid for Ruby.

Don't fret, so she's a brunette! I'm a big fan of the UNred bike.

Bummer, (maybe), that it's not what you thought you were getting, but I agree with Rollfast, brunettes can be pretty awesome, (and lots of fun to ride . . . ), so take'er out and thrash'er around abit, see if she gets into it, if not perhaps she prefers the slow, soulful, steady pace of a peaceful ride, either way you've probably created a mate for life, just enjoy for as long as the ride lasts . . . bikes right . . . we're still talkin' bikes???

The Ross 24" ladies I'm putting together is of a tint called Shutter Red. It's actually between a purple and a brown but it resembles dark cherries so the almond accent and gold/white striping look very nice on it.

Let's see here, pics.
