Hey Iflylow(Eric)
How are things? Are U back on island?
I went for an epic ride 2wks ago north to Nago, then on up to Okinawa Expo Pk and the Churaumi Aq'rm. I met 4 cool Japanese riders headed further north along the coast and after a little conversation was invited to ride w/them another 35K. We went to these 2 small island connected by bridges.
All told, I think I covered between 166-170K that day & didn't get home till 21:15; I was beat like a dog but would do it again in a heartbeat!
Works really busy and I'm trying to cram a lot in(doing DragonBoat Races, too!) but the riding weather is awesome.
Peace
Anton

This is great weather right now! I did a 90 km ride last Sat with a buddy around the southern end of the island. Great time.
The ride up north is good. The Tour de Okinawa rides around there in November. I did the 50 km race last year and plan on doing the same this year with my new bike. There is also a 85 km, a 130 km, and a 200 km race available to regular folks. Their website is
https://www.tour-de-okinawa.jp/english/index.html
It is still last year's site but will change to the 2008 version in a few months.
There are a group of us riding this Saturday if you want to join. The most likely route will be from Mihama up to Camp Schwab on the east coast, across to Nago, and then down south on 58 back to Mihama. About a 110 km ride all together. The next ride is just over 160 km - Mihama to Okuma and back. That will be the following weekend - 3 May.

Hey!
Thanks for the invite for tomorrow. I'd like to go;my 'thoroughbred' needs some maint. as I've been using it for all-week riding. My beater is 'down' for maint. & I cannabalized it for parts for a friend. I'm not sure I'll get it done early enough. I'm keen to pack the miles in though and will consider it.
Hope to see you out there.

No worries, man. Plenty of time to ride this year. My group rode about 110 km this past weekend in the northern part of the island. Great ride! Here is a link to my GPS data from the ride.

'Sup, iflylow,
Road up to Motobu Pier & Sesoko Is. beach this Sat. I think I passed some of your group returning past the Kaneoho Bay Resort area of Rt58 at about 13:00.
I didn't get out of work till 11:30 and I was supposed to hook up w/2 friends on skinny'd-out MTBs @the Pier for Ie Is. Lily 'Fest. They later told me they were passed by some of you in the morning. We left Chatan about 5hrs apart and never ended up meeting @Sesoko Bridge.
I had a great days ride, albeit alone but also got to snorkel and see new things. That is a great GPS link-map you've got; thanks for the view--I can identify w/your route really well!

Sounds like a great ride! I did a shorter ride a week ago (85 km) and just a family ride over this past weekend.

I didn't even see this thread when I created mine, argh.
In anycase, I'm on Kadena if you feel like going for a ride sometime. My Caad9-5 won't be here until mid October though. Feel free to hit me up; I'm not the most experienced rider in the world by any means, but I'd like to think I could keep up.
Edit: didn't see the date on that post. Probably PCSd by now
