Hmmm...bet you got some interesting results when you googled for a product with a name like that

Very funny skit though.

Certainly are. With riders like Hilton Clarke, Will Walker, Matthew Lloyd, Karl Menzies etc etc performing well it looks good for continuing Aussie representation in the ProTour inthe coming years.

They still 'race' those crits at 48kmh though!

It's like when they say the sixes are 'arranged' or 'organised'. It might be the case in some of the six days, but there are still teams with decent riders losing 60 laps!

My oath...I've been to a couple.

Saw Abraham Olano reduce the front group from about 30 to 6 in one lap at the Draai van der Kraai (about the only crit you have to PAY to go to.....pricks) one year. Pretty incredible.....the commentator was on the bike in front of him, reading the speed off the moto over the PA.

I won't depress you blokes with what he could do on the cobbles.

Zanoli was there that year too....crazy cat was riding twin carbon 3-spokes, virtually the whole circuit was cobbled. Met Ullrich in the local gym that doubled as changeroom for the day. Impressive specimen.

I'm sure if you search on the interweb long enough you will find someone else who enjoys the same "hobbies" as you do. I suspect you might have to call them "Mistress" though

Sorry for turning TAT towards bikes again, but anyone got any good tips fer TT-ing?
We've got a club 25km TT on Saturday (undulating... yeah right, it's at Yarra Junction) and I've never done a TT before.
Since work/kids/catching colds has been high on the agenda lately, I've only been on the road maybe once a week fer the last 6 weeks... but I've spent 1-1.5 hrs a day on the trainer doing mostly aerobic workouts with a spattering of anaerobic intervals.
The biggest change I've noticed is how hard I have to push to get to 80% MHR compared to 6 weeks ago.
I managed a ride up the hills this week and noticed that I was climbing the same roads I usually take, about 2kph faster fer the same RPE, and wasn't tiring near the tops.
The motor's getting better :)

So... back to TTs.
How hard would you go out from the start for 25km?
Would it be ridden around LTHR? or is it short enough to pace it higher?
What sort of time would be respectable fer a C grade vet?

pshaw 07-26-06 04:57 AM

Hey Exy, tell me some more about that tandem of yours and where would a young chap go to develop a cheaper alternative of his own?

Sorry. Will try to refrain from such behaviour in future. :o But sometimes it's just too hard :)

Wilchemy 07-26-06 05:13 AM

Hey Odin, is it Steels Creek Rd that you are doing the TT on?

Odin 07-26-06 05:15 AM

No, Yarra Junction - Noojee Rd.
We use Steels creek fer RR's though.

Wilchemy 07-26-06 05:22 AM

Oh. Don't know that road. I presume there will be hills though. BBN club does their TT on Steels Ck Rd which is why I asked. You could then look at thier website for past results.
Hopefully one of the racers on here will be able to give you the info you need.
