lets see that would take us to 500 (give or take) pages? I'm just thinking this might load a bit faster, and lord knows we could use a bit of speed round here. I'll move the last 50 or so messages to the new thread for continuity's sake (is there continuity here?) and yes, it's your forum you do get a vote (just no polls). marty |
The AUSSIE thread. . . part cinq.
Ok,
I've moved about 4 pages from the previous thread, if there is any content that needs to be here let me know and I'll merge it in (just send me post numbers from old thread). |

So ya reckon Noike will knock us up some commemorative clobber with '5' on it?
Come to think of it, there's prolly still a shedfull of it out back of a sweatshop somewhere I was just forced to have a gander at the neighbourhood while the front door to the hovel was locked. BF's quite extensive isn't it? |

I'm surprised your muscles haven't squeezed your innards out through your bellybutton too with those weights. |

Of course, a properly funded and staffed public system would do away with most of the waiting lists but that is the stuff of fantasy these days. (and let's not get onto the subject of doctor and nursing shortages which are a worldwide problem) |

If you are ever in the mood for a laugh, the "Living Car Free" and "Advocacy and Safety" forums are always full of assorted weirdos and high on entertainment value. |

The Australian system is a blend of the US system and the British system. We allow private insurance and private working doctors and at the same time have a public health system much like the British. We do not have practices that are owned and run by the private insurers, that the US does have (HBOs I think they call them?) We have long queues in the public system and the private system isn't going too well either. Since the private system can't really discriminate on customers (charging more for the unhealthy customers) and having a public system where the healthy go (why have insurance if you aren't gonna get sick and there is a system that will look after the worst injuries?) the private system has a tradgedy of the commons problem. Hope that helps |
even Cadel agrees with me that the climbing stages in this years Tour is pathetic !!

Kewl, we're up to Part 5 now. Isn't it amazing what people who are too stupid to use instant messaging can achieve
Hitchy, if you or anyone else is after any parts, e-mail me. Trying to keep the hardcore product pimping off the boards or lotek will smack my bot-bot. We still have to make you that Tephra Ti at some stage. Let us know when you get sick of the Look. :D |
That frame's quite nice, but I couldn't order one as it has some other bugger's name on it :p

That's strong. George Gregan is freakishly powerful....can squat 400lbs. Tiger Woods can bench 300 as well. Here's a list of costs so far (that I can remember) not including what I can claim back from Medicare... -4 weeks of chiro, twice a week at $35 a pop. X-rays were free, though. Back crooked as a dog's back leg. -CT scan $380 -MRI scan $540 -initial neurosurgeon consultation $175 -tracton kit for home ~$150 -epidural during yet another CT scan (so he doesn't jab the wrong bit, I spose) $760. I collapsed on Monday, stayed on the living room floor for 3 hours before Icould try and stand up...so the epi was brought forward. -drugs out of this world....valium, Prednisolone, Tramal, Mersyndol Forte, Norflex. No idea what I've spent on those. Feel good now, though! Might be time to get back on the bike! |
