You're a mad bastard doing hill repeats today! Is the noise a squeal or a creak? Creaking could be frame or might be pedal or something too. Have a good look around the BB to check for cracks.
Have you got campy on a Giant? Not too common I would have thought.

Mate, if you've got the means to buy a top end frame, buy a top end frame. :)

I don't understand all these dudes who bang on about people having sweet bikes but being sh#t riders so they don't deserve it or whatever. I mean, I'll still have a giggle at fully kitted out dudes who can't ride, just coz it looks somewhat incongrous, but at the end of the day I'm just glad to see them out there having a go & enjoying themsleves. Better than pumping cash into a friggin pokie machine or something:rolleyes:

I did that a few years ago leaving Perth in the middle of Summer for a couple of weeks in Milan (where it was snowing). Milan is much colder than London in the Winter I can tell you (more humidity).

excnetsixe, Campagnolo BB's suck. Honestly.

Suspect one of the cups might need tightening.

classic1 12-21-06 07:03 AM

Could be. Happened to me a while back.

Did I mention I'm not a fan of Campagnolo BB's?:D

yeah, but that's probably just me. Like Will Chemy intimated, you don't have to be Fangio to buy a Ferrari, but I don't reckon anyone really needs a $5000 frame, unless they're racing up big mountains and want something uber light (sub 1kg), in which case expensive carbon is the only option. I'd rather get a sub $1000 aluminium frame, weighing around 1300g to 1500g -- which might be stiffer than a 900g carbon frame -- and spend the rest on wheels.

that is WHY you need at LEAST 2 bikes: you need a spare :)

Supposed to be 0C here on the 25th. Hopefully it will snow.

If not, I have plenty to share.

A light Christmassy dusting will be fine. Just enough to make everything more picturesque.

Indeed.....just watching the final of the 1991 worlds again on You Tube....where Bugno throws the arms up and nearly gets rolled by Miguel.

Steve Rooks...275km CDM road race with a Mavic 3G rear wheel. Ouch.

classic1 12-21-06 07:00 PM

Cheerio folks - I'm off too the work christmas party to suck piss and eat pig meat.:p

Have a great Chrissie.

Might miss it as I'll be making a nuisance of myself up the boozer.

On a final cheery note, some comedy gold from 'The Donald':D

Was Cycling Central any good? I missed it.

I know we should be grateful for any cycling we get on TV, but, as I whinged about all last summer, I'd rather a presenter who may be less articulate but has 1000000000 times the cred than Tooly-Maris, like Philby O'Anderson

By the way, has anyone got any goss' on the Anderson thing?
What's his missus like?

Cycling Central was ok, not much cycling as such, they covered the Cyclist of the Year awards and some "what's new" stuff.

Reckon you'd get pretty sick of an inarticulate presenter pretty quickly, regardless of the depth of their knowledge. What we need is someone articulate who knows a lot about cycling - wonder how Robbie would do in that role? Isn't he about to retire to sunny Queensland or sumfink?

Work's over (I did an hour this morning,) shopping's done, presents wrapped, beer and wine drunk (actually still working on that one) and the cat feeder's been booked for Christmas day.

Merry Christmas everyone! Give it heaps (food and wine) and ride if you can find the time and inclination.
