The Free Beach Cruiser Project
If you been following my Beach Cruiser build you see that I got another cruiser for free and only wanted it for the blue colored wheels..........

Well I am not one to just throw a bike away if there is someone who can use it. A friend of mine has lower back issues and she is only 22 years old. Part of her therapy is a stationary bicycle directed by the therapists for an acceptable exercise for her. I asked her if she wanted a bike and she said she wanted me to build one for her since she knows nothing about bikes.
First thing I asked her was to ask her doctor if it was ok for her to start cycling and she told me the doctor said cycling would be a great way to keep her weight under control (she is not heavy now, but since her back injury a few years ago the weight has been slowly increasing) and keep her heart active, but he said no mountain biking stuff and make sure it's a comfortable bike as not to cause any injuries.
I told her I had the perfect bicycle for her if she did not mind a "man's frame" bike and she did not care and after I sent her a pic of it, she really liked it. Here it is when I first got it after swapping the wheels...............

I spent 2 days going over the bike, cleaning and repacking bearings, removing a few small dents from the fenders, removing rust and polishing the chrome, and making sure she would have no issues with this bike. It's a single speed cruiser, but she said she would be riding it at a local park near her home and it was all flat and smooth in the area. Here are this pics of it all cleaned and tuned up. It's a 2004 Huffy beach cruiser...........

Sadly, the last 2 bikes that I gave away to someone ended up being neglected and destroyed by the people I thought would appreciate the bikes, but I feel that if this young lady is willing to travel 3 hours to my place to pick it up, she would probably use it and take care of it. I have no money invested in this bike, but I have a lot of time in it to make sure it suits her needs. I even stole the suspension seatpost from my wife's bike (she never rides and will never notice) and along with the already springy and cozy seat, this would be perfect to absorb any shock from potholes and stuff.
