Yeah, as stated above. it's the same company for both sites. BikeShopWharehouse are their clearance/returned bikes.

Their bikes are built above their price point, so this is a great place to buy. I've owned bikesdirect bikes, and they're excellent.

I question if they are related. They share nothing, and I mean nothing, not hosts, not DB's, not registrars, not even server OS's

That may be intentional to truly separate the two legally since their selling returns or discounted items.
Bikes and notorious for drawing lawsuits.
There may also be some issues with selling particular bikes for under suggested retail through various dealer or franchise regulations meant to protect other dealers.
