Pedal Replacement Help!
So, I finally got my new Time RXE pedals, but I cannot for the life of me get my old Spd's off the cranks. I'm pretty strong and I've read the article at Parktool.com, but i was hoping one of you guys might have some insight or a trick to get these damn things off. Thanks!

First lay the bike on its side and pour household ammonia into the threads - this is the release agent for seized steel to aluminum parts. This may require long term soaking to allow the ammonia to penetrate. Second, have a helper pour boiling water over the end of the crank while you are leaning on the pedal wrench - al expands with heat a lot more than steel and boiling water is not hot enough to do anything to the heat treatment of the al. Before you install your new pedals put anti-seize on the threads.

If possible, put the pedal wrench in a position where you can get your tumb around the crank and your fingers around the wrench. Squeeze. Use both hands if you can.

I commonly over the years have had stuck pedals. First, I hope you are using a pedal wrench. If not get one it will make all of the difference in the world. Second I position the wrench blade as near parallel to the crank lever as you can. Then I give the wrench handle a whack with a hammer. It works every time for me.
