I'm pretty sure you can't really drink much of it because it'd probably evaporate as it hit your warm tongue.

Also when you open the bottle to take a swig it starts absorbing moisture.

FYI I have never used Isopropyl Alcohol to clean a chain, but when I was building my current bike I used it quite a lot to remove excess grease and greasy fingerprints from the frame, and it worked a treat.

Yes, I just wiped my chain with it this morning and I am satisfied with it. I won't use it as a straight degreaser, but I intend to keep using it for my after-ride chain wipe downs.

Yep! It does dry out your mouth and throat quickly, which is an interesting feeling. I can even confirm that a shot of vodka felt refreshing afterward. Not saying any of this was smart, but we were young and in college.

I have siphoned methanol from a sprint car and did not die. I did not swallow much though.

Back in the day, there was a guy who would come to our after bar parties, he would light Everclear on fire and drink it.

Yes. But not all the time, and not a huge amount. Like one or two pulls, never a significant quantity. At 190 proof, it is pretty much an industrial solvent. I've gone all sober now...

We played this one show with a bunch of other acts. Lead singer of one of the bands was a dude I just disliked for various reasons, which is rare for me. His claim to fame at this show was that he had a Suicide Girl girlfriend with him. And yes, she was indeed pretty hot in an alt, tattooed, and pierced kind of way, if you're into that kind of thing. Anyway, she was complaining loudly that the drinks were weak, and did anyone have anything stronger? Mconlonx to the rescue -- filled the rest of her highball glass, about 1/3, with Everclear. Made very clear what it was and she affirmatively confirmed that she wanted it... I later heard she was puking the whole ride home in doodrancher's car. Not sorry at all, not one bit.
