Sticking Brake Fix
Don't know if anybody has seen this before, but I found it interesting; and frustrating to chase down.
I removed my front brake and when I put it back on the arms would not open Somehow the spring popped loose. But instead of coming completely loose, it popped up so instead of the spring arm sliding along the bushing the end of the spring was pushing against the bushing, with the bushing acting as a stop.
I had never looked that closely at the spring before so it looked OK. Finally, I was sitting there just looking at the brake and noticed the bushing seemed to have a slight groove worn in it, and that was when I had the eureka moment.
Has anybody ever seen that, or something similar before?

You haven't included any information about what type of brake you have. It could be a single or double pivot calliper brake, a v-brake, or a cantilever brake. The make and model of your brake is important information if you hope to get suggestions about how to fix the problem
