It sounds like your bottom bracket assembly is loose and has some play in it. IF it is a cartridge bottom bracket, remove the crank arms, and bottom bracket assemble, clean and regrease the threaded bottom bracket mounting parts, re-assemble the bottom bracket, reattach the crank arms, and test it out. If it is a loose ball bottom bracket, loosen the lockring, tighten the non-drive side cup to remove any play, and re-tighten the lockring. If this does not take care of the problem, might be time for a new cartridge bottom bracket assembly, or an overhaul if it is cup and cone.

Well, this is embarrassing.

I tightened everything. I tried 3 different pedals. I put Teflon tape on the pedal threads. I actually busted a brand new Click-R pedal tightening the end cap trying to get rid of the click. I had no one else to ride it to make sure I wasn't hearing things, it's an XL frame and my wife is a XS person. So I elected to take it into the shop and pay whatever I needed to pay to get it taken care of. it was driving me nuts!

I was fuming about not being able to ride and the wife said to dig up the old bike and ride it when I had it in the shop. So I pulled ot from the shed aired up the tires, lubed the chain and took it out. I had forgotten how much I disliked it compared to my new one. And I was greeted with the same click.

I must have a bone click in my foot or ankle that is clicking and that's what I heard. It sounded so mechanical. The pedal must amplify it some. I have a bit of neuropathy in my feet and lower legs. I could hear the click and feel it faintly but could not pinpoint where it was coming from. I think it's my foot because thinking back I noticed it got a lot louder when I started to use my new open toed sandals instead of my older close toed SPD shoes.

Could be the chain rings are loose or worn and they are flexing when you hit the right pedal with pressure..

I had a "click" in my mountain bike the other day. Similar to yours, would only happen when I pedaled with my right foot, etcl.

Turns out it was a "slightly too long" derailleur cable housing sticking out from the frame and hitting my foot. Yes, I can fix it, yes it's easy. I just tend to be so busy fixing other people's bikes that I don't often work on mine (especially for something so small.)

So it's one of those d*** OEM parts! Those parts were were born with. Sad thing is that it is so expensive to get high quality 3rd party stuff to correct the issues. (I've been nursing my OEM knees along the past 36 years. Hope to get a few more out of them.)

Lube the seatpost & collar/clamp parts.

My sled was a everlovin' click factory "at the 3 o'clock" position and others too. Chased it all around, up and down, miles and miles of frown. Finally did the seat bits and....

Well, let's just say it got better.

Might help. Won't hurt.
