STI road levers/ MTB cable disc brakes/ Travel Agents
Evening all,
Anyone on here got the three devices listed in the title to play nicely?
If so, can you post a picture and/or give any advice?
I do have more than one way to skin this particular cat as I have the Tektro long-pull road aero levers on hand, and bar end shifters, but was thinking laterally.
The brakes are MTB pull Avid BB5 which work *beautifully* contrary to expectations!
I have a Sram Rival 10-speed gruppo on hand. Looking to increase the cable pull for the Avids.

1) the In-Line Travel agent is No Longer made or sold . so the use of them in a MTB cable disc brake becomes Moot .
only the right angle noodle replacing V brake one is sold any More.
Now that the Biggies Sram & Shimano are integrating Bulbous Hydraulic Masters in their Brifters
the under the stem cable to Hydraulic disc converters are going the same way
You have to start considering short pull Road Cable disc calipers, in Avid thats the BB7R
Paul's 'Clamper' changes the actuating arm length, From short to Longer
and the TRP Hy Rd a cable operated caliper that uses a master and slave piston pair in each caliper .
or the mechanicalTRP Spyre ( Both pads Move to the disc)

You may like SRAM,but it is time to think outside the box
Gevenalle Cyclocross - Gevenalle
OR,if you have a new road compatible group on hand, then you need road compatible disc brake callipers that will work with your new brake levers

Thanks all, very useful.
I had seen the inline travel agent in photos but not for sale, which explains why!
obviously the best solution is to get a pair of BB7s with road pull, but having got the BB5s working so well I am loathed to skip them, they're not worth anything second hand.
Next thought is a moustache bar with bar end shifters and the Tektro levers which I have, that could be funky. Kind of a modern take on the Bridgeston X0.

I have one In-Line Travel Agent sitting in my drawer in Switzerland, not being used. Would you be interested in just one, or does it only make sense if you have a pair?
