Replacing Sora shim

I stupidly removed the shim (for brake reach adjustment) from my Sora sti shifter, now I can't get it to go stay back in...any ideas?

You need to release the cable from the caliper ,so you can squeezes the brake lever all the way so you can put the shim back in . then reattach the cable to the caliper and adjust the cable tension .
