Install for Remote Lockout Lever
I installed a much better fork on my 29er Diamondback that includes a remote lockout. I've looked around for pics to try and see how the locking lever may have been mounted and so far have struck out. Nothing good on this site either.
So far my best option has been to place it on the left side between the brake and shifter mounts. I will have to carve a bit of metal off the brake mount to clear the locking lever pivot. It looks like it will work OK, but I'm appealing to the forum so I dont have to do it over.
TIA,
-SP

Knowing which fork/ lever type your using helps with this sort of question.
For most levers, yes they stickout, however with higher end ones there are often lower profile options (sometimes sold separately), or version which fit onto brake levers i.e. SRAM/RockShox Matchmakers

The lockout lever on my bike is installed on the right hand side inside both shift and brake levers. It is still easy enough to reach but there is less likelihood that it will be activated or deactivated by accident

Thanks for the feedback. Now I understand there are a LOT of different levers. I ended up doing it the way I thought would work best. Its on the left handlebar between the brake and shift levers. I figured the left side had a little less action going on and it might not get hit by accident. The only tough part was getting the cutout on the brake lever right so the lockout lever wouldnt hit the shift lever. Looks good. Now to finish running the cable.
