Shimano 600 Front derailleur set up
I just obtained a Shimano 600 NOS front derailleur that is a bottom pull unit. It will run with a same vintage Shimano 53/42 crankset on my 1984 Austro Daimler. I am replacing the Huret derailleur that came with the bike when new.
How do I proceed to set up the Shimano 600 front derailleur for proper operation? I know the outer derailleur side clearance to the larger chainring should be max 2 mm. But, how do I set the shifter, cable and the two adjustment screws?
Does anyone have a Shimano 600 (or similar) instruction set?
Thanks.

Thanks, I have checked those. My old Huret has a cable housing stop and the shifter cable is routed on the left side of the frame. The Shimano does not have this detail and it appears the cable needs to now route over to the right side of the frame. Does anyone have a photo of a same/similar front Shimano derailleur that can be posted. Right now I just do not see how to proceed with the install. Thanks.

I do not have a photo. It is a Shimano FD-6400. There is no provision for a cable casing stop. Am I missing a part? My 1984 AD frame has no fittings for an under bottom bracket cable routing.
On the bike, the stock shifter cables are routed along their respective sides. The right/rear shift cable is routed under a brazed on guide above the bottom bracket. For the Huret front derailleur there is a cable casing stop brazed to the down tube forward of the bottom bracket. The short length of front shift cable casing begins and loops downward then up to the cable casing stop on the Huret unit.

Got a look at some new bikes today.
There is a "missing" part. I bought a Shimano plastic cable guide to place under my bottom bracket. Unlike new bikes the 1984 AD frame with downtube shifters has no provision for this type of under bottom bracket cable routing.
Thanks for all the help.
