lost front fender tip
do I need it? is it just decorative? is it something that can be bought? fabricated? maybe I should just paint the tip? came off the silver bike but they have the same fenders

Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.
Is that a Planet Bike fender? If it is, contact them. My bet is they'll have replacement parts.

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter
The tip isn't necessary. It's mainly cosmetic, though makers also cover the ends of the fenders to prevent being sued if someone carries the bike by the front wheel and it turns back cutting their hand on the fender's sharp edge. This was more of an issue on metal vs. plastic fenders.
So, go ahead and see of Planet Bike can send you one, or tape it, or leave it alone. But don't grab the front wheel and roll your hand back in to the fender.

meanwhile, 26 months later, I found it in a corner of the basement by the sump pump & behind the x-c ski poles. guess it had a good flight. glad I went snow shoeing this year & wanted my old poles. slid it back on even tho I took those fenders of that bike. holds firmly & wouldn't come off with moderate attempts so didn't use any glue

interesting form factor enables it to attach well

happily back in place waiting for the next bike that requires a fender

It feels great to find something that was lost. I once lost a paperclip and never forgot it. After many years of coping and adapting other solutions, I found it under a rug =) So happy!

once dropped and lost a quick release end in the garage, never turned up. Looked and looked, probably bounced into something, but odd as its not a washer or something tiny....Replaced it and I figure it will show up in 10 years when moving something and the mystery will be solved.
