SRAM X1 to drop bar

I've got a SRAM x1 derailleur and cassette up to a Jones bar. Weirdly my hands are having trouble getting used to the Jones bar after using drop bars forever. I'd like to try some woodchippers on my RAD.

Has anyone used the Apex 1 shifter with this derailleur/cassette? Looks like that stuff is set up to use either drop shifters or flat bar stuff.

All the xxxx's and 0000's are confusing.
