Not so smart move

Hi folks,

I recently picked up an "eight speed" grip shifter to use on a 1X beater/city bike. When I got it home, I noticed that it was labeled, NEXUS, as in internal geared hub. Before I start experimenting to see if this will work with an eight speed cassette and SIS derailleur, I was wondering if any of forum members knew if this shifter would work with my application?

Thanks and regards,

Van

Thanks. It was only $5, so my inattentivness wasn't too expensive.
