Ok, can you read? Honestly, I read what he had to say, sounded like he used the wrong amount....ok, so could I, thats why I asked here for a number that works with both the steerer and stem!
And I also know the faceplate doesn't attach to the steerer....again if you actually read my post you would see that I said that incase anyone needed to know the model, since I don't have the model number.
Also I said if you had nothing helpful to say, please don't post in my threads......I'm asking nicely and you're still not getting it.

Mechanically disenfranchised - PC way of calling someone a klutz. I like it.

Weyless is Supergo (they are eliminating that brand, now to be called... Supergo!).

Interesting that you would mention Supergo; I got a topcap/expander assembly there that has a top plate with a recessed section that goes into the steering tube, reinforcing it right at the upper edge (am I explaining this well?). Seems to offer a lot of support in what would be a vulnerable area during tightening.

It was a quill stem, which wasn't tightened down properly. Either way, you're right. The steering column is not for someone who doesn't know how to work on it properly.
