112 links chain

Hi everybody, I want to get the right chain for my
1990's TREK 830 ANTELOPE
3 GEARS ON FRONT AND 7 IN REAR,,,I PUT MORE FORCE THAN I SHOULD'VE AND THE 56TH LINK NEEDS REPLACEMENT, IAM tempted to just buy a new chain then I'll adjust it with tool (pin etc).
I have a $25 budget, I don't do off road and new inner tubes and tires are for asphalt smooth roads I guess,so I am excited in doing this right THE VERY FIRST TIME
ADVICEZ ARE EXTREMELY WELCOME TY

you buy a new chain, then shorten it to the right length get a chain + chain tool
..

KMC is good , they have a quick link to join the ends.. you can find DIY how to videos online..

maybe the back gears (freewheel or cassette ) need replacement too, but there goes your wishful budget..

A basic 7 speed chain will do.

I think KMC chains come with a master link (not a pin), which doesn't need tools, but you'll need a tool to cut the chain to the right length.

How do you know which link is the 56th link?

The Z51 does come with a masterlink. The Z50 (cheaper 6-7 speed chain) does not. You need a tool to adjust length on both regardless.
