short sis cable... grrr!

in my ultegra sti shifter kit, i have two cables labeled SIS, which i assume is for the shifter cables. the ones they gave me... one is long enough and the other one is too short. what's up with that?

is there something i'm missing here? cuz it doesn't seem right...

Are you referring to the inner wires? If so, they should be the same length. If you're referring to the outer housing, you should have three pieces. Two the same length (they go from your shifters to the cable stops) and a shorter one that goes from the cable stop on the chain stay to the rear dérailleur.

i was talking about the outside cable for the shifter cables. the inner shifter cables have one long and one short. but the outer cable is the one that i'm missing.

i only have 2 instead of the three you speak of.

There should be 3. There is a short piece at the rear derailer. The other 2 are usually supplied the same length, but are often too long and need to be shortened for the specific application.
