Dura Ace WH-9000 C50-CL skewer length?
Hello,
I just bought a used Dura Ace WH-9000 C50-CL, clincher, wheelset without skewers. Unfortunately, the seller has stopped response to inquiry. I went on Shimano website to check on the specs (WH-9000-C50-CL).
It says the front skewer length is 133mm, simple enough. However, the rear shows 163/168mm. I'm not sure which length to get for the rear. It will be mounted to a Cipollini RB800 frame given to me by a friend. The manual were long gone, and Cipollini's website doesn't have specs for this old model.
Thanks for your help.

It's simple math. The skewer (inside width) has to be longer than the axle (OLD) width by twice the thickness of the dropouts. So, front is 133, allowing for 6.5mm dropouts on a standard 120mm front hub.
Rear dropouts are thicker, so I'd expect a bigger allowance, but the numbers you show are too large. Possibly the front skewer is spec.d by working inside width, and the rear by overall length.
However, two lengths are probably listed because the hub is made in two widths. If so, measure yours, and see if it's the narrow or wide version, and buy the skewer accordingly.

Subtract 33 from your rear and you get 130/135. Standard road/mountain rear spacing.
