1978 Shimano Model MF-FF50(wide) friction freewheel removal tool
I have a 1978 Schwinn Suburban 5 speed(Positron II Derailleur), Shimano FF System, thread-on, front freewheeler bicycle that I would like to pack grease in the rear wheel bearings. The original tool Shimano had for the removal of the cog cluster was XB-220, a B-type, multiple freewheel tool. I don't think Park Tool makes this specific tool. It has 12 splines and an Eldi 2645 may be one of these tools, but looking at the tool closely it may not work. I saw someone else say Harris made a TL-2022 that matched the dimensions of the tool that would work but no one seems to know for sure, but I'd be willing to buy one if I could find one. Unless you were working on bikes from 1978 to around 1982 you may not know what it is either. If this sounds like frustration and desperation, it is!
