Tire casing ripped on the inside (no flat).
It's a new 35-622 Schwalbe Winter spike tire. After some 80km i noticed the rear wheel becoming bumpy. Inspection showed that the tire isn't seated any more approx 180° from the valve. Looked slightly s-shaped when looked from behind and a spike was missing at that spot. Othervise the tire looked fine on the outside. Last time i had this s-shape happening was on a tire that was cut from the outside.
After removing the tire i saw this on the inside. Production error?

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter
Body ply failure. Could be a defect, or could be the result of over inflation or extreme under inflation, or a road hazard which "bruised" the tire on impact.
Given that it's relatively new, and if the outside presents is not very worn, I'd give you the benefit of the doubt and give you new tire. If I wasn't feeling all that generous, I'd charge you some nominal price for the use you got out of it, ie. about 5% of it's expected life. Then thinking that it's not worth coming off like a piker for the lousy 5%, I'd go back to giving it to you free if you asked nicely.

bad tire... take it back, get another.
and someone should tell schwalbe they need to beef up the casings of their studded tires.
