Cut in saddle question

Cut in saddle question
I have an aftermarket saddle.
Not expensive but certainly not junk.
I have a pretty big butt and more interested in comfort than speed so
purchased a nice wide one with both coil springs and
what looks like air bags inside the springs.
There is the tiniest slit on the top.
I do not know if it is just stress or
one of my drunk neighbors having a bit of fun.
Yes they are that petty. Drugs and alcohol are rarely pretty.
I want to repair the slit before it get's worse.
It has already widened a bit. We are talking about a 5/16ths long slit.
Certainly no biggy but if water gets inside anything can happen.
I thought about using a small galvanised patch. The saddle is
certainly rubbery but I suspect it's plastic.
What do you think?

Maybe something like the vinyl patch kits sold to repair couches & car seats?
