I've had good success with odorless mineral spirits and a plastic "scrubbie."
After doing this* for many many years, this ^^^^ was also the answer for me albeit I do not use a scrubbie. Mineral Spirits works brilliantly. The trick to Mineral Spirits is to let it work for you. I use a cotton shop towel/rag and soak an end of it with Spirits. Then, place it on the residue and let it soak keeping the sticky area "wet". Let it sit for a short time, then go back, soak it again with the cloth and it will then easily rub off with the cotton cloth. This way you never need to use anything abrasive and it works just as well removing frame decals over the paint as it will not mar or dull the paint in any way. hopethishelps *removing decals, tubular glue, tape residue |

Heat and dental floss to remove the sticker. Solvent of your choice to remove the goo.

For removing tape goo, I use cooking oil. I spread some on the goo, and let it sit for a day. Then I scrub off the dissolved goo with dish detergent and a plastic pot scrubber.

Dental floss works well for removing badging from cars by cutting through the foam tape that is used to attach them these days. I can't imagine how dental floss would help with stickers. To remove stickers, warm them with a blow dryer, get a fingernail under the stickers and peel them off. The adhesive that remains can be removed with mineral spirits (paint thinner). I just removed a Dallas Cowboys sticker from an Accord that my daughter bought yesterday. I didn't have any mineral spirits so I used Goof Off. It took a lot of rubbing, but the paint was unharmed.

About 15 years ago I bought a heat gun. Besides my dremel, I think it's probably the most handiest thing I've ever got for bike maintenance stuff. Removes decals, heat up frozen parts to break them loose, heat up BB30 bottom brackets so the bearings will go in easy, same for the head tube when installing the cups.
