Tips for 105 rear derailleur ?

So while cleaning and getting ready to tune up my shifting I discovered my rear hanger had come loose so I removed the bolt holding the derailleur to the hanger and took care of the issue. Upon going to install my wheel I was struggling and couldn’t figure out why. I noticed despite the bolt being tight I could rock the derailleur clockwise/counter clockwise about 1/4”.

After a bit of confusion I walked off and came back to realize the b tension is not resting where it should be on the Little tang of the hanger. I can’t seem to figure out how to get this thing back where it needs to go. It appears if I turn the b tension all the way out it would probably go but I expected you could remove and install the derailleur without changing adjustments ? I’m hoping I didn’t mangle the b adjust the first tine I put the derailleur back on.

Am I missing something I do I just need to back the b tension off? I’ve been through this on my hardtail but it’s sram and I didn’t have any issues with it

Remove the derailleur, position it so that the screw is above the stop, then screw it back in.

I got it, wound up having to manhandle it a bit as the mounting bolt is captured by a c clip. Had to pull the cogs away from the derailleur body with one hand and then hold it so the b tension was correct and got it back on there. More stupid questions to come im sure lol
