Replacement front derailleur
Hi
My son has an old Lincoln Meteor mountain bike with a 3 speed front derailleur which has got mashed up along with the twist shifter. I replaced the original sram twister with a Saiguan compatible one and only just realised the derailleur is broken.
The original derailleur a Shimano one with a top cable attachment. The gear set is a 3 cog Suntour xr120, the large cog has 48 teeth.. I want a cheap replacement. What should I be looking for to ensure I buy a compatible one?
Many thanks in advance
Adrian

Shimano stamps the model number on the back of the inner cage. It should be something like FD-Mxxx where FD = front derailleur, M = mountain (FDs designed for road don't include the M), and xxx is the specific version. You could replace with the same by looking on e-bay. Or post the model # here and we may be able to suggest alternative.
