novis needs help please

So I have a question but bear with me as I won’t know the lingo. So the other day my SR sun tour chain set shattered so I am looking to replace it and was thinking about can I replace a SR sun tour CW-XCC-T202-PB Chain set, 22 32 42T with a SR Sun tour CW-XCC-T208-PB Chain set. 28/38/48T x 170mm, or would that mean I would have to replace or parts? Sorry if it is a stupid question

Sun Tour as a Component supplier has been dead,
out of business, for many years. Shimano won.

When you say "chainset shattered," what exactly is broken? Can you post a pic of the chainset? I have seen the model you reference above go for ~$82 on amazon.com:

https://www.amazon.com/SR-Suntour-CW.../dp/B00B5TW544

But before you go out and buy a new chainset/crankset, you should try to see what is really broken/bent and what is not. In other words, you might just need a new chainring, chain, or something else less expensive.

Edit: If you're going to pull the chainset, then it also wouldn't hurt to check the bottom bracket as well. If you don't have the tools for it, then let a bike shop do that for you.

What he said.^^^ But in the case that you do need an entire crankset you will most likely need to add several chain links and raise the front derailleur up a few millimeters to accommodate for the larger 48t chainring but everything else should be compatible.
