Bottom bracket

Hi all, I have a quick question. I have a 2009 Trek 7300. The bottom bracket needs replaced. I can’t figure out what size I need. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Bikes: RSO E-tire dropper fixie brifter

I contacted trek inquiring about a different model and they responded back within a day with the answer. Worth a try if you're running out of options.

The absolute best and assured that there's no assumptions going on is to remove the arms and measure directly. Andy

So, I guess there’s no listing online to find it. Of course. Never easy

As mentioned above, contact Trek, if they don't answer its no issue to pull off the crank, & left side & measure with calipers etc.

Best guess I can give you after some light googling is either 113 or 122 -- probably 122 since it's a triple.

Often the spindle length will be printed somewhere on the BB itself once you take it apart, but obviously that's no help if you're wanting to remove it and replace it all at once.

pull arms, measure shell and spindle length.

You can also look up the crank model and check for the recommended BB it requires as that is really what controls it.

You'll have to disassemble it anyway for replacement, so why not measure it to get it right? Knowing is better than online guesses. You want to know, right?

It probably is "English/ISO".

Triple bottom brackets typically have slightly longer spindles than doubles. But, as others have mentioned, if you want an exact replacement for what is on the bike, then disassemble and measure. Heck, your bike is 9 years old. It may not be all original, and there are often multiple options.

Also, if your bike has a left lockring, the bottom bracket may be able to be cleaned, lubed, and adjusted, with nothing major to purchase (or perhaps new bearings).

measure twice, buy once. A micrometer might be a good investment.
