New Shimano chain off by a digit-why?

My three year old Shimano Ultegra 6800 11speed chain is due for replacement. Shimano has changed the part number by a single digit apparently- would it mean some kind of upgrade or change?
New: SHIMANO 11 SPEED BIKE CHAIN CN-HG701-11 116 LINKS WITH QUICK LINK
Mine is CN-HG700-11

i'm guessing that the 701 comes with the quick link, and the 700 uses the quick pin.

Models can change for lots o' reasons...fit, finish, function are 3 good examples.

Shimano decided that whatever they changed during production was enough to justify a new product number. I wouldn't worry about it.

I appreciate the responses- you've answered it for me, and eased my worry about the new chain being possibly incorrect.

Im fairly certain Shimano chains ending on "1" are directional whereas the other one is not.

"For CN-HG901-11/HG900-11/HG701-11/HG700-11/ HG601-11/HG600-11
 In order to achieve good gear shifting performance, these have a forward side and a reverse side and must be fitted in the correct orientation.
 Front (outer side) The side with the mark shown in the illustration is the front (outer side). <Outer link side has Shimano stamped on it>
 Reverse (inner side) " <Inner side link is blank, no print stamped>

The above is from the pdf posted above, sans illustrations. Directionality not limited to *01 chains.
