chain length

Does anyone out there have a Specialized Allez (2013) who can tell me how many lengths are in your chain? I just got a pre-owned one that has 114 links and is obviously too long. Way too much slack. I know I can try the chain sizing method but I'm curious to see what others might have. Thanks

Don't take this the wrong way, but your inquiry is really useless. The bike you have is pre-owned...there's no telling if the previous owner(s) may have changed out the cassette, the chainrings, or the length of the rear derailleur...and thereby the chain as well. It all might not be original, or original spacs, to the bike. Likewise...the other owners of Allezs may have also made those changes...not to mention the chain length diffrence in various frame sizes. The best thing for you to do is to find (Google) a good chain length calculator and input the info from your bike to determine your proper chain length.

No chain length calculator needed. Either use the big/big plus 1 inch method, or better, the little/little method, making the chain as long as possible, without hanging loose. That length will handle any cassette within the RD's wrap capacity.
