anyone know where I can get a small blower fan domestically. I ordered one on-line thru amazon but it was very late & it was the wrong thing. I think it came from China. looking for an online source or even a hint as to what kind of retailer or supply shop might carry such a thing. many years ago I rigged my own basement window ventilation fan by using an old kitchen stove top hood blower. those things were great, big motor & big fan blades

anyway this is the thing I ordered & am hoping to find. anything in the 4"-9" diameter range would be fine. or if you know of where I can get something similar. 2 or 3 wires for home 120 volt ac use. I need it to mount to a piece of plywood with a hole cut out for the fan

So something like an exhaust fan? If you can fit a 10" unit, I would definitely recommend. Dropping to a 7" more than halves the CFM. And those are auto-louvered, so nothing climbs in when the fan is off.

Problem is, the fan I linked is $66, and the same spec fan on Grainger is $219. The Grainger model might be a better quality fan, but it costs 3X as much.

don't need louvers cuz I rigged a screened bug shield. looking to spend less than $50 or $20

the old range hood fan has been ideal

not talking about a lot of volume just something to keep the air moving slowly thru the basement area. I have a plug in timer I use so it goes on twice a day for between an hour or four hours, depending on climate conditions

Sure buy from Amazon. They try as hard as possible not to pay any tax and don't support your community in any way, but that stuff is way over rated.

Consider a Duct fan . Available locally in hardware stores or any place that sells HVAC supplies. I have one mounted in my basement window. It's quiet and I run it 24/7 in all but the cold winter months.

I would spring for a Panasonic exhaust fan- near silent & will stay that way.

I picked up one about that size,although with a bit more plastic as a wall mounted bathroom exhaust fan. Whew... a bit stronger than I had anticipated.
