Vintage Acera Front Derailleur Cable Routing

I have an older style, top pull, Acera front derailleur. Does the cable go under what appears to be a cable guide to the right of the cable anchor, or just directly to the anchor?

I can't post a picture because this is my first post.

If the cable guide to which you refer looks like a sector of a pulley with a groove along its perimeter, the cable should follow along the groove to the clamp bolt. If the guide is a small metal tab the cable should go over it and then to the bolt.
Is there a part number stamped or cast into the derailleur somewhere?

Apparently this derailleur is made for both top & bottom pull. I've found that the pulley is only used for bottom pull applications so my setup is correct.

Thanks for the replies.
