Bottom bracket query

Hi everybody newbie I’m afraid the problem I have is this, I seem to have banjoed the threads on the drive side of the bottom bracket, so after youtubing I bought a threadless bb but today I read if the threads aren’t too bad you can use some liquid weld stuff. The fear I have is if this doesn’t work will I be able to remove the old bracket and put the new threadless one in. If you’ve got this far thanks, basically I’m trying to use the original bb as it’s perfectly good thanks in advance

Bikes: Stewart S&S coupled sport tourer, Stewart Sunday light, Stewart Commuting, Stewart Touring, Co Motion Tandem, Stewart 3-Spd, Stewart Track, Fuji Finest, Mongoose Tomac ATB, GT Bravado ATB, JCP Folder, Stewart 650B ATB

Without seeing the BB threads in good images showing the claimed damage I/we can't say much. But I would consider a thread locker way before an epoxy. The thread locker is heat sensitive for easier future servicing/cup removal. Andy

Bikes: Too many bikes, too little time to ride

You can try to get your BB threads re-tapped/chased as well.

Bikes: Too many. Giant Trance X 29, Surly Midnight Special get the most time.

This may not be possible at the present moment where you are(because COVID-19), but this is definitely the time to bring it to a shop. They can try to chase the threads, and the tool just isn't economically sensible for a home mechanic to own. If they can't chase the threads to make them usable I would not recommend any hackneyed solution to try to use a threaded BB. Threadless BB or frame in the trash are the advisable options in that case.
