Update: WTB is shipping the new rim to me, and to offset the cost of having the wheel rebuilt they're sending me a new saddle as well. (They basically gave me my choice of any item they make up to ~$130 in value.) I don't actually need a new saddle, but I'm cool with that.

I had a Mavic Open Pro front wheel crack around some of the eyelets. I replaced it before it could fail. Thick anodizing makes a hard surface that can start a crack in the softer Al.
