Bearing ID numbers for Specialist Roubaix Headset ???
Hi
The head set bearings on my 2014 Roubaix need replacing.
If I buy replacements from the local bike shop, they will be massively expensive, and I won't know the source (Aliexpress??). These bearings will not be made by or for Specialist. They would have picked them out from a bearing catalogue.
Bearings usually have a part number engraved on them. Mine are too corroded to tell (the photos show the bearings after being cleaned).
Does anyone know the bearing identification numbers for the head set bearings? That will allow me to buy them from a reputable bearing supplier.
My 2016 Specialist Roubaix. First bike I have owned in 40 years.

A call or email to Specialized might yield useful information, or you could have the local shop order them specifically from Specialized. If nobody buys stuff from the local shop it may not be there when you want/need it.

If you are near a large city that has a lot of industry, there are almost always a bunch of small businesses that supply them with things like bearings, fasteners and all sorts of things that the manufacturers of those parts don't sell direct and use distributers and retailers. So look for a bearing supplier in your area, take that to them and they might be able to match it up for you.

You could try taking the bearings apart and just replacing the balls if the races are still smooth. Pry off the seals with a thin blade and usually the top and bottom of the cartridge shells are lightly pressed together which you can sometimes separate with your bare hands. Yours looks like one of the retainers has a slot which should make disassembly easy. You'll most likely find a composite bearing balls retainer inside which the balls can easily be popped out and replaced. Use plenty of grease.

Hi
I commute on the bike to avoid Covid and other diseases on public transport. The risk is very low here (currently more cases of Covid in the White House than in my entire country) but I caught the common cold virus on my first day after lock down when I took the train. I had to take time off work and I don't want to repeat that mistake.
Taking the bearings to a bearing supplier will need some planning.
I phoned the Specialized agent. They could not tell me over the phone whether they have the right bearings in stock. Bring them in they said. If I am going to bring them in anywhere, it might as well be a bearing supplier. At least then I would get the bearing ID numbers.

Hi
I think the top bearing is an MH-P08F or TH870E or MR121 or P08F type. Made by FSA.
The bottom bearing is IS47/33
