Homemade aerobar risers

I've got some Redshift clip-on aerobars. I want to raise them with risers, but the factory risers are out of stock (as is true for so many bike parts).

However, the riser kit is basically just a set of 4 M6 bolts and standoffs. I can buy 4 M6 bolts and standoffs from McMaster Carr. I'm sure that, due to liability concerns, Redshift would say "don't do that" if I asked them, but I'm wondering if there's any other reason why I shouldn't do that.
