What version frog cleats are these?
The sticker says Frog 2 but I can’t find any mention of Frog 2 on the interweb, and they look a touch different from some of the others I’ve found. Anybody know exactly what these are?

Speedplay "updated" their cleats maybe 5 years back. These are the newer version. IME they'll work on older versions of Frog pedals, but they're a little more fiddly to install. Just make sure that white insert is firmly in place as you tighten down the mounting screws.

Worth a fortune, that's what! It's an absolute crying shame that when Wahoo bought out Speedplay they elected to not only cease the manufacture of most of the range but also cut all support, availability of spares etc, for those of us who were loyal customers of the brand.
I'm currently having to swap my set of Frogs between bikes and am down to my last set of cleats. What a waste it'll be when they'll just end up in the bin! Anyone with the entrepreneur about them should set about to attaining the copyright for the cleats with view to producing them before a guaranteed market disappears forever.
If anyone's wondering what the hell I'm on about, it's this:

+1 for MacMwnci! I ride X2s, have done so since their first all Al body generation and have 6 bikes with them. When I heard of the company sale I scrambled to get the few spare cleats I could. I figure I have only about 1/3 of the number I will need to let me continue to use the Xs until I am too old and decrepit to ride. Andy

Ditto, really shocked when I realized that Speedplay sold out to Wahoo which promptly discontinued
all pedals except the newest road racing pedal. So my four pairs of Frogs bought in the 2001-5
era and doing fine with periodic lubing are now dependent on the life span of my 4 pairs of
remaining cleats, which at $35 each were kind of an iffy buy several yrs ago. I get about a
year to 18mo from a pair, so restricting use to my sandals maybe 4-5 yrs and the Frogs get tossed.
Not sure I will be riding much beyond that time frame at my age though. Likely replacement will be
Shimano dual sided ATB pedals.

I'm thinking if everyone who has/wants Frogs (and also needs the Road, X-Series replacement cleats) should write Wahoo asking them to continue manufacturing them. It sure seems like there is a large enough market for them to make a profit. Contact Us | Wahoo Fitness

At least one of us here has let Wahoo know of his feelings, a couple of times. Andy

Same here Andrew. For what it's worth I've just submitted a message to them now. It's a poor marketing decision by Wahoo anyway, given the Frog's suitability for 'gravel/adventure' riding etc and that scene's continued rising popularity. They should've/could've relaunched them to a ready market! I'll not be holding my breath though.

I have six pairs of Frogs and three pairs of SYZR pedals, both discontinued by Wahoo. How hard would it be to outsource cleat Mfg and sell them to us fools for an arm and a leg? Idiots in Marketing. There is not another set of pedals like either on the market.

I got a similar response from them.
When I bought my smart trainer a couple of months ago, I voted with my pocketbook.....got a NEO 2T w/o even considering WAHOO.
Why buy a product line and discontinue it?

I agree. Last year I bought my LBS's entire remaining stock of Frog cleats— two pairs! I bought the Frogs when first released for the float in the pedals and have used them ever since. Sorry to see them abandoned by Wahoo.

Ha ha, that is the exact same response I got from them word for word (yesterday, Thanksgiving Day) from a different customer support person so my guess is they have received enough messages about this they just have a canned reply. At least they were very quick to answer my question. I imagine it still can't hurt to keep asking them though. Might have to recruit the K-Pop fans to bombard them with emails. Sure is a shame the Frogs are no longer available as there is no other good substitute with the float that they have.

Also need to start with emails asking them to support the pedals that they say they are supporting -- that is, the Zero line. No spindle length options, none of the fitter wedges or the extender plates, etc. Power meter version status has been radio silence.

I noticed that as well when I started looking for Frog cleats about 5-6 mo ago and noted the sparsity of Speedplay stuff left at the Wahoo
site and the absence of Frog cleats on the web except for ridiculous prices. Checked the LBS and no Frog cleats there (4 different locations, no dice)
but they did rummage up a NIB Syzr pedal set which obviously they will have to eat as it is unsellable w/o replacement cleats.

I hope they don't have to take a loss on those and I see some people are trying to sell NOS or even junky, used old Speedplay pedals and cleats for 2-3 times the price of the retail when they were available. Not sure anyone is getting those prices but plenty are trying and the LBS has a good chance of at minimum getting back what they paid for them on Ebay or other sites.
