I have not been able to undo the already damaged locknut to adjust the spring tension, which needs to be stronger. I have used releasing agent without success and have now ordered a six point 17mm socket which I will use with the mounting arm in a vice. I am concerned I might either round the nut or do other damage. Does anyone make and supply such parts?
In addition, do you have any idea when this model was first made and until when, or where I can find that out. It is mounted in the Doniselli my father-in-law bought second hand in the late 1940s or early 1950s but I am trying to establish when it was made. I think the gears may have been changed but don't know.
