Shimano Atlus vs Tourney
Hi, I own a bike with a shimano tourney shifter. The shifter does not shift cleanly and I wanted to replace it with a friends old Atlus M315 shifter. I had a few questions:
1. How much better is the Altus compared to the Tourney?
2. Can I use an 8 speed Atlus shifter on a 7 speed Tourney groupset? (My current shifter is a 7 speed and my friend has a used 8 speed)
3. How easy would the swap be?

2. No. Not compatible.
3. Not difficult. Plenty of YouTube instructions available.
